We just concluded week number 2 of Natalia's 9th month and are embarking on a whole new week. I just realized that Natalia has been acting like a much older baby since she started crawling and pulling herself up. She was never into her toys -- during pre-crawling days she'd play with a balloon, and plastic bags. She would bat at some of the toys in her swing and walker, and kick in her gym. As soon as she was able to crawl (at 7 months and 3 weeks I think) she has been constantly on the move reaching for higher places and seeking the next big challenge.
I have piles and piles of almost brand-new toys. They get played with for a couple of minutes and then tossed into oblivion.
Natalia enjoys banging on the sliding door looking out into the backyard were the rabbits run; she loves standing in front of the tv while holding on to the tv stand. She also enjoys knocking the stuff off of the ottoman/coffee table and gnawing on any paper products she can get her little hands on.
Actually, anything off the floor is fare game. The cutest thing is when she grabs something small and I ask her "what's that in your hand? what's that?" she smiles and crawls away really fast laughing . I love it when she does that.
I can't get her to sit for more than 4 seconds at a time in the bathtub. She's constantly pulling herself up to stand or she's crawling to the opposite end of the tub. Some times it's challenge and a chore to give her a bath when I'm tired and impatient, but I guess I have to suck it up and get used to it.
Diaper changes can be a challenge too. She hates laying still, so I have to resort to letting her get away with stuff I normally wouldn't let her do -- like gnaw on a diaper, or a suction syringe (the booger sucker bulb).
I'm also starting to notice a change in her eating habits. She's drinking less formula and breast milk. It seems as though she doesn't like either any more. Also, she ok with the sweet potatoes and broccoli I make her, but she seems to prefer store bought chicken and noodle soup (I guess it's more seasoned and tasty).
We shall see what new things will come this week.
